Highlights from our November 4th meeting:

Announcements: 
Joe O'Rourke reminded everyone that next week's meeting will be offsite and ON MONDAY at the Veterans Memorial School Main Entrance- meeting at 11:45AM.
We will be collecting items for care packages for individuals at the Veterans Home.
Ex: Shampoo, soaps, deodorants, etc. Please bring donations to the meeting on Monday.
***There will be no meeting on Tuesday!!!*** 
 
Harry gave a warm welcome back to Rotarians, Mike Loyle, Jim Siwek and Preston Centuolo.
 
Josie thanked Harry for setting up the room. 
 
Caitlin Terry mentioned that Linda Foster was hurt while playing pickleball early Tuesday morning. Please keep her in your prayers. 
 
Caitlin Terry also announced some big news — the Hydromissions Store is open! 🎉

Josie reminded everyone to USE YOUR CAMERAS! They are due in December!
 
Sherry Soutiere thanked everyone for their generous donations in honor of her mother's 100th birthday. It was a wonderful project and they are very grateful and thankful to everyone.
 
Josie expressed gratitude to Joe O'Rourke and Nick Surace for donating and sponsoring a table for Rotarians at the Dream Foundation Halloween Event. Rotarians enjoyed a wonderful evening of fellowship!
 
Josie thanked Suzanne Martinelli for all of her hard work along with Preston Foster in raising $1,000 in Boscov's coupons. She was awarded an Everyday Hero Certificate.  
 
Josie reminded everyone of an exciting new initiative called Rotary Community Heroes! She distributed nomination forms for individuals or groups who go above and beyond to make Vineland a better place to live and truly change the face of our community in remarkable ways.

Through this initiative, nominees—who must be non-Rotarians—will be honored with a special lunch and presented with a certificate of recognition. The first honorees will be the Vineland Historical Society.

 
Josie announced the club is looking to start a "Book Club" and possibly a "Walking Club". The book club will not start until after January. Andy Browne, will help spearhead this project.
 
Josie announced that the Cumberland County Rotaract Club is having a Blood Drive on November 13th at the College and they are asking for Vineland Rotary's Support. 
They still have 43 slots to fill. 
 
Sherry Soutiere reminded everyone of upcoming fellowship opportunities: the Spirit & Truth Peanut Butter & Jelly this Friday, Pedals for Progress this Saturday, November 8th, the road cleanup is on November 13th, and Wreaths of Remembrance on December 13th.
 
Sherri reminded members of the 5K Jingle Run/Walk scheduled for 12/6, she has posters with the QR Code that contains race info and sponsorship info available. Proceeds benefit Wreaths of Remembrance. They are looking for more sponsors. (event details can be found on the Vineland Rotary website) 
 
Ed Morvay announced that Michael Sarnoff has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Vocational Service Award. He will be honored on November 18th, with past recipients also in attendance. Please plan to attend this meeting!
 
Diane Alcantara announced that Amurtel is accepting donations for the devastation in Jamaica. Visit: www.amurtel.org

Here are the step-by-step instructions:

    2    Navigate to the Zelle section: by looking for options like "Send Money with Zelle" or "Pay & Transfer". 

    3    Select a recipient: from your contacts or by entering the recipient's email address. 

    4    Enter the amount: you wish to send and add an optional note if desired. 

    5    Review: the transaction details to ensure they are correct. 

    6    Tap "Send": to complete the payment

 

If your bank isn't a partner, you can still use Zelle by downloading the standalone Zelle app, but you'll need a U.S.-based bank account, a U.S. mobile number, an email address, and a valid U.S.-based debit card.
