President Harry Maloney called the meeting to order. Donna Bennett led the Pledge of Allegiance and Frank Rumick led the 4 Way Test Sandy Hearing led the club in prayer.
Sergeant at Arms, Gus Foster announcedthe one birthday for the week - Donna Bennett. Club members sang "Happy Birthday" to Donna, and after dinner, surprised Donna with a dessert treat, complete with a candle (see full birthday and anniversary list below).

Donna Bennett shared the exciting news that our club received a Rotary Citation from Rotary International for achieving the majority of our stated goals for the the 2021-2022 Rotary year. Congratulations, Vineland Rotary and to immediate Past President Donna Bennett for this great accomplishment.
Harry reported that Code Blue is in need of a gas range for its warming center. Contact Cathy, Vineland Code Blue Coordinator @ 856-332-1330 to donate a gas range or funds towards the purchase of a new range.
Linda Rumick asked for volunteers for October 7 for our monthly Spirit and Truth lunch project. Volunteers needed at 8:45 am at the Soup Kitchen in the basement of the First United Methodist Church at 7th and Landis. Contact Linda (lrumick@comcast.net) for information.
Diane Alcantara has asked members to consider donating to Amurtel's collection efforts to provide solar lanterns to residents in Puerto Rico who are still without power following the devastation from Hurricane Fiona. Hurricane Fiona tore across Puerto Rico on September 21st, bringing high winds and massive flooding which severely damaged the already shaky electrical grid. At least 1.5 million people are still without electricity.

Rotarians andTD Bank executives, Denise Jackson, Vice President/Store Manager and Gary Gilmore, Vice President/Small Business Relationship Manager,tackled the topic of "Business Financial Education. They focused on financial fraud prevention and ways to avoid cyber crime. They spoke about how criminals target individuals and businesses, through cyber attacks that hack individuals through email and other avenues that allow them access to financial accounts. They offered in depth information, but one of the important take aways was the recommendation to never use your debit card online for purchases - if it is compromised, criminals can access your bank account. If you missed this presentation, be sure to speak with Denise or Gary to learn how to protect yourself from financial cyber crime.

President Harry noted that 9/29 is: National Coffee Day, Confucius Day, International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, International Happy Goose Day, National Biscotti Day, National Police Remembrance Day, National Silent Movie Day, VFW DAY and World Heart Day.
