President Harry Maloney called the meeting to order at 11:45 am, ringing the Rotary bell. David Scales led the club in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Dawn Hunter with the Four Way Test. Jay Einstein gave the prayer. Sergeant of Arms, Gus Foster, informed the group that there were 6 birthdays this week (see birthday list below). He introduced and welcomed Joann Hewes as our newest Rotary member.
Annoucements:
Andy Browne reminded us that our next meeting (Tuesday, September 20th) will be led by Jay Einstein and David Schad. They will be presenting about Rotary Sponsorship which is our biggest fund raiser of the year.
Josie Spinelli asked all members to come out for the Cumberland County Business EXPO & Job Fair @ Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland Campus on September 21, 2022. Vineland Rotary will be there from 4 pm until 7 pm. Please come out and support us!
Program:
President Harry introduced Allison Zambone from the Fox Chase Cancer Center. She gave a power point overview of What is Cancer: its risks, factors, signs and symptoms in the categories of breast, colorectal, lung and skin cancers. The program was well received by our members. Thank you Allison!
Conclusion:
Frank Rumick gathered up $33 of Happy Dollars. Many of our Rotarians were happy for the rain and that school is back in session! Harry reminded us that the Rotary District Conference will take place May 18-20, 2023 in Ocean City, Maryland. Make reservations soon and plan for a good time! President Harry adjourned the meeting.
